Debt Consolidation
If you have loans, credit cards or store cards with different companies you may be able to make use of the equity in your property and incorporate these into your mortgage, leaving you with:
- One simple monthly repayment
- A lower amount to pay each month
However, you must make a cost-benefit analysis in this situation - your lower monthly payments may make paying off your loan easier in the short term. However, it also means that you will be making repayments for a longer period and will, therefore, ultimately be paying back a considerably larger sum than if you had carried on with larger monthly payments. This is likely to be the case even if you take advantage of the lower interest rates offered by many lenders.
Think carefully before securing other debts against your property. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
We normally charge no fees although depending on your circumstances a fee of up to 1% of the mortgage amount may be charged.
